Worked closely with product, risk, technology and operational leaders to identify and assess risks associated with new or significantly modified products and processes organization wide. Ensured that risks were captured and addressed to the satisfaction of key stakeholders prior to deployment.

Built and managed a first class operational risk management, enterprise risk management and reporting function, including process mapping, risk and control identification and assessment, policy writing and management, issue management, new product approval, model risk management, third party risk management and business continuity. Led quarterly risk management committee meetings and coordinated and authored committee and board deliverables.

Built the internal audit function for the bank of the future!

Included oversight of ERM, internal audit, compliance and vendor management. Developed and implemented a functional risk assessment process designed to drive the risk-based internal audit plan. Created ERM charters, policies and monthly dashboard reports for the Audit Committee to allow for better oversight and understanding of organizational risk.

Led the accounting, finance, payment systems and card services areas of the credit union. This included the overall financial reporting, ALM management, investment portfolio management, debit and credit card services, and daily processing of ACH, share drafts, wire and any other forms of payments.

Developed a comprehensive loan modification program to assist Credit Union member's experiencing financial hardship as a result of the 2007 financial crisis.Built the enterprise risk management program, which identified the companies top risks and provided strategies and protocol for mitigating these top risks across the organization. Oversaw the company's project management department, loan modification team and was a member of the institutions' executive management team.

Worked in Great Lakes Banking practice, then transferred to San Francisco in August 2007, working in the Credit Union practice. Provided financial statement audit, internal audit, supervisory committee audit and other consulting work for community banks and credit unions throughout the country.

Performed commercial loan reviews and risk assessments for dozens of community banks and credit unions, including assessing the adequacy of the ALLL. Provided commercial loan review training to other audit professionals. Performed stock valuations for community banks.
