My husband, Michael, suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke in September 2017. The devastation impacted both of us and the recovery journey has been hard. Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally HARD! No matter how long and difficult each day turned out to be, God gave us renewed strength each morning and sent blessings in many forms and sizes along the way. Everyday has been better than the last and Michael continues to regain what was lost and has been enjoying more independence. Michael has been such an inspiration to me and so many others; he struggles but he never quits. We are supposed to learn and grow through our tribulations and help others when we are called and that is exactly what God placed on Michael’s heart. After our experiences navigating and managing this arduous stroke recovery journey, we decided to turn this tragedy into a statement of hope for others by establishing BELIEVE - Stroke Recovery Foundation. We are a Non-Profit organization that provides stroke and brain injury survivors with financial assistance and resources to help them better control and manage their journey to recovery. We BELIEVE that with patience, perseverance and proper support, the journey to an optimal stroke or brain injury recovery is possible.
