Member of graduate research team for a 4-year longitudinal mixed methods study seeking to identify sources of resilience amongst Latine youth in rural, farm worker, or agricultural families across the state of Indiana that can be used to promote health, school success and positive changes. Tasks include coordinating in-field data collection visits with community partners and participants, quantitative data management, cleaning, and analysis for 307 participants (parent-youth dyads) and conducting semi-structured qualitative interviews with 47 youth and 20 primary caregivers. In-field data collection activities included administering surveys, NIH toolbox assessments, and collecting biometric measurements (height, weight, blood pressure and BMI).• Led transcription team, overseeing, and coordinating task assignments, audio, and final file quality checks, troubleshooting transcription softwares, and providing weekly progress reports• Developed, revised, and led training to help increase efficacy in those conducting semi-structured interviews, in-field and online data collection and transcriptions• Spearheaded doctoral project to assess parent-youth dyad relationships and its impact on youth body mass index (BMI) to present findings at a conference

Provided classroom support to teachers by setting up work areas, organizing supplies and materials, pulling small instructional groups, and collaborating with other grade level teachers to ensure all students were receiving equitable resources. I served as part of the multilingual learner and third grade instructor teams. Tasks included facilitating bilingual independent group sessions for kindergarten-4th grade students, provided translation services, and classroom supervision during standardized testing. Actively engaged with every student to promote success-oriented mindsets and provided guidance with individual difficulties.

Part of the Avanzando through College team, I worked closely with the Director and Assistant Director of the Latino Cultural center (LCC) to facilitate workshops designed to help first-generation Latino students navigate the college system. Utilizing tools such as Canva and Delivra, I created bi-weekly newsletters and calendars for the Purdue Latino Cultural Center. Created and implemented programming to promote student engagement while upholding and fostering the LCC’s mission of recruiting, retaining, and empowering Latinx students to succeed, giving them a sense of belonging until and beyond graduation.• Developed and maintained budget to assist with grant management• Organized and executed end of year banquet to honor completion of Avanzando through College workshops

A longitudinal mixed-methods study of health and well-being of Latine youth (ages 10-15) in rural, farmworker, or agricultural families seeking to learn and identify stressors, challenges, and strengths to be used to promote health, school success and positive change. • Completed eligibility and recruitment calls of 120 prospective participants • Actively engaged with participants during in-field data collection (surveys, NIH assessments, biometrics)• Supported transcription efforts by providing Spanish-English translation quality checks

Performed data verification of primary demographics while maintaining necessary EMTALA and HIPPA guidelines for Emergency Room patients. Collected 80% of co-pays and assisted with emergency Medicaid applications for those who did not have existing medical insurance. Using EPIC, an electronic health record management software, I scheduled and managed patient appointments for the emergency room, laboratory work and infant and maternal health center.

Member of the microbiology quality control team that conducted bioburden, microbial water testing, clean-room sampling, and high-level ISO static testing and monitoring on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. Tasks included performing verification of primary data, calibration and maintenance of equipment, and training. Worked closely with all members of team to ensure cGMP, GLP, OSHA, FDA and other government regulations were being upheld when handling samples. Initiated, authored, and reviewed investigations for out of speculation events throughout the plant.
