Focusing on restoration efforts aimed at transforming MTO projects into net-positive contributors to environmental sustainability, including: - Replacing non-native grasses with indigenous species - Restoring fisheries and wildlife corridors - Engaging with communities that were previously disenfranchised in the original construction of the highwayMethods to obtain these goals include:- Restarting environmental planner site inspections to ensure compliance in construction- Collaborating with Operations staff to identify challenges with current environmental specs- Providing internal training for engineers on Class EA, Species at Risk and ESC measures- Creating several new NSSPs for project-specific solutions

Awarded an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA)Working under Dr. Yolanda Morbey carrying out field work, banding and radio-tracking birds in Georgian Bay, Ontario. Experience taking blood samples, claw clips, affixing Lotex radio tags, and radio-telemetry methods. Study sites were water access only, and involved driving a Zodiac boat through difficult wave conditions in Georgian Bay.
