About Jennifer Ewing Parkhurst

I am a CFO and QFE with 30 years of experience assisting healthcare and life sciences organizations at various stages of commercialization to grow their businesses strategically and profitably. I bring deep governance experience advising boards, including Parent Board of Directors, subsidiary board and Finance, Investment, and Risk, Audit, and Compliance Committees. I am qualified to serve on Audit Committees. Most recently, I was the System CFO at City of Hope, a Top 5 US News and World Report cancer center with over $3.5B in revenue, 11,000 employees, four hospitals, two research institutes and a network of forty clinics in California, Arizona, Georgia, and Illinois. At this complex and highly regulated not-for-profit organization run with corporate rigor, I was a key leader in the development and implementation of the strategy which included investing $2B to expand operations in California and completing several M&A transactions from physician practice acquisitions to the $390M acquisition of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the largest transaction in the organization’s history making City of Hope the dedicated cancer center in the country with the largest geographic footprint in the United States. I guided the revenue cycle team to use AI/ML to enhance operations. I also led enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on improving profitability driving $350M in margin lift. I was a key leader in creating and investing in multiple start-up companies while at City of Hope. The Board appointed me to CFO at AccessHope, a rapidly growing, AI enabled, health services Series B stage spin-out which provides self-funded employers member access to top US cancer centers complex cases. In this role, I led the company to double top line revenue by expanding into new channels, become profitable and free cash flow positive, and successfully complete $33M Series B financing. I was a Partner in PwC Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Management Consulting practice. I advised executives and delivered dozens of engagements with clients ranging from multi-billion-dollar global pharmaceutical companies to Silicon Valley based pre-commercial companies about to launch their first products with a focus on strategy, operations, research and development, and technology (enterprise architecture and transformation). I was also the global lead partner for firm services to a $30B biopharmaceutical company. I started my career at Eli Lilly and had multiple management positions in manufacturing, human resources, global supply chain, research and development.
