Verify color additives comply with appropriate global regulations when used in foods, feed, drugs and cosmetics.• Annually resolved approximately 320 formal regulatory projects affecting business valued at $MM, including management of new regulatory developments and communication with customers on product allowance, potential limitations of use and labeling requirements for applications targeted globally.• Collaborated with Quality Department and R&D, identifying criteria and process to qualify new suppliers and raw materials based on regulatory requirements in targeted regions.• Accommodated portfolio growth from single caramel color to >40 color sources, colouring foods (EU) and flavors through design of collaborative supplier and raw material qualification processes as well as development of IT systems for management of regulatory product profiles and automation of Specifications, Ingredient Statements, Ingredient Breakdowns, Nutritionals and SDS. • Used 2-pronged approach, managing brand threat when California's Proposition 65 identified 4-Methyl Imidazole (4-MeI), a by-product formed in some caramel colors, as a potential carcinogen, minimizing negative global repercussions and recognizing net $MM gain with development of low 4-MeI solution where high 4-MeI product sales were cannibalized.• Listed colors onto USDA National Organic Program (NOP) National List. Subsequently preventing the sunsetting of colors / flavors / RM from National List. With successful organic certification of Annatto Extract, removed Annatto from the National List, securing increased volumes of USA Organic Annatto market.• Filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, obtaining market intelligence.• Worked through trade associations to encourage rapid approval and adoption of FCC harmonized GB 8817 in China, contributing to China GB regulation alignment with global standards (e.g. Class I CI, ammoniacal nitrogen, S02, 3-MCPD) with positive revenue impact.
