With over 30 years of social work and child welfare experience in the public, academic and private sectors, I am finally putting into practice all of those lessons learned (and continue to learn) in my role as Executive Director of an amazing non-profit organization, Key Assets Kentucky. I believe it is my chief responsibility to create a healthy and thriving workplace. One in which supports employees' physical and mental health, professional growth and overall well-being. I strive to be a role model for our leaders and provide in the moment, hands on support when needed but also a gentle push to get outside of your comfort zone - that's where our growth happens! If I do this, the organization will do the important work of meeting the needs of our clients and families. A few lessons I've learned along the way that are important to me: live by and be guided by your values, assume positive intent, strive to be a person of integrity, ask questions more than state opinions, be willing to ask for help, create healthy boundaries, and always do the right thing, not the easy thing.
