• Manage the development, sourcing, factory allocation, and production for Fashion Apparel, Fleece, Flannel, and Home Décor categories to import quality products with a high gross margin• Source globally to identify the best resources in order to meet merchant needs and design visions for strategic development. Includes seasonal international travels to China & Hong Kong to develop/maintain vendor relationships, implement new sourcing strategies and negotiate raw materials. Includes domestic travel to L.A. and New York City for sourcing and art studio buys.• Develop and maintain supplier matrix by evaluating performance, capacity, qualities, cost, and partnership. Strategize vendors to grow, maintain, or reduce current vendor base. Identify and evaluate new suppliers. • Collaborate with merchant, design, overseas agents, logistics, distribution centers, quality & compliance in order to manage the product life cycle from concept to customer through the use of the Time & Action Calendar. • Supervise and onboard new Associate Product Development Specialists; responsible for educating on sourcing, development, systems, retail math, and importing process.• Coordinate bids for sourcing with import and domestic suppliers. Validate, review and analyze qualities, cost, performance and shipping requirements prior to reviewing with inventory management and merchant teams. Recommend vendors and transition timelines, and manage follow through on execution for cross functional teams.• Generate executive level strategic reports evaluating receipt allocations versus margin among vendor categories. Establish future targets and guidance to improve margin. • Responsible for negotiating new contract terms with import and direct source vendors.
