The Flourish Lab is designed to positively shift the way adults show up for young people. In a series of transformative virtual workshops, we learn how to flourish first — before ever asking the youth in our care to do the same. The Flourish Lab offers practical, easy-to-use approaches for youth-serving adults grounded in proven social-emotional practices.

In this position I manage a national portfolio of our-of-school clients who are implementing the Weikart Center’s suite of quality improvement services and products. I work particularly with national youth development organizations and systems on designing, building and sustaining quality improvement systems for afterschool and summer learning settings.

Key responsibilities include: (a) managing all aspects – from project design to logistics to delivery -- of the Weikart Center’s core capacity-building curricula (e.g., Training of Trainers (TOT) courses) and other routine trainings; (b) supporting and growing a national network of field consultants and trainers; (c) facilitating the development of an active national learning community organized around the Weikart Center’s quality improvement content and training methods; (d) supporting the development of new and ongoing improvement of existing training and technical assistance products and services and (e) managing a group of quality improvement system building projects.

Work with clients that are engaging in the Youth Program Quality Intervention by conducting YPQI based trainings and providing technical assistance when needed.

This position provides leadership to the Denver Afterschool Alliance which is responsible for formally aligning current stakeholders, networks, and initiatives to develop and implement a long-term, comprehensive vision and strategy that increases access, awareness, and support for quality atferschool and summer programs to Denver's children and youth.

* Provide over site to the Youth Program Quality Initiative capacity building efforts currently being developed in the State of Arkansas* Coordinate training deliverables of recent American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded trainings targeted to youth workers* Develop a web-based youth worker orientation training program via the establishment of the Arkansas Youth Development Institute* Serve on various school-age related committees including a committee dedicated to the development of stand-alone school age licensing regulations, the state’s quality rating improvement system, state quality standards, core competencies for youth workers, etc.* Conduct and facilitate community presentations, trainings, etc. on topics of relevance to out-of-school time programs, youth workers and educators* Develop publications addressing information of importance to youth development programs and leaders* Provide one-on-one training and technical assistance to out-of-school time programs

Conducted and facilitated community presentations regarding the value and purpose of having a Statewide Registry (Traveling Arkansas' Professional Pathways Registry) for early childhood and out of school time professionals.Conducted adult education/trainer competency-based trainings for verified trainers in the TAPP Registry. Topics of interest included: training design, learning styles, engaging the adult learner, training facilitation, etc.Conducted and facilitated community presentations, trainings, etc. on topics of relevance to out of school time educators.

Administratively supervised 32 before and after school programs serving approximately 1300 children in and around the Anchorage area.

Conducted social research and collected data that was reflective of the American people and their institutions.
