Experienced Sheffield-based Child Care associate solicitor, Jennifer Heckingbottom, has been promoted to the board of directors at the Switalskis group.I joined Switalskis as a paralegal in September 2007. I completed my training contract in Child Care Law at the firm and qualified as a solicitor with Switalskis in 2012. I moved to the firm’s Sheffield office in June 2021 to oversee the Child Care team based in South Yorkshire. As an experienced Child Care Law specialist and an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children’s Panel, since 2015, I act on behalf of children or their guardians in care proceedings. I work with victims of domestic abuse and in the specialist area of Adoption Law. I have been promoted to director at the Yorkshire firm and progressed through Switalskis’ Associate Development Programme (ADP). The externally accredited programme is designed to give all staff the opportunity to develop their skills in areas including leadership, financial management, client relationship management and communication, and progress to a more senior role within the firm. I progressed through the grassroots of this firm and feel this allowed me to truly understand the ethos of Switalskis, how it best nurtures and promotes the talent that is valued and necessary in order to make our law firm progressive and of the highest standard. I feel excited at the opportunity of joining the board of directors and I am looking forward to developing our Sheffield office and being part of the growth of our South Yorkshire presence.Outside of work, I enjoy competing with my horse in cross country events, being involved with my local Riding Association, taking part in events to help raise money for local charities.I very much enjoy time with my children, husband, friends and being outdoors.
