About Jennifer Hlad

Experienced reporter and editor with extensive knowledge of the U.S. military, military families and veterans. I have covered military issues at every level, from local bases and small units to the Pentagon and Capitol Hill, in the U.S. and throughout Asia. I've worked for newspapers, magazines and a TV station, and have appeared on several live national and international broadcast news shows to discuss my reporting. In addition to more than a decade of experience covering the military, national security and Capitol Hill, I have covered the state legislature in Maryland — focusing on environment and agriculture issues — as well as small town and county government in South Carolina, and K-12 and higher education. I love to travel and have visited more than 40 countries.
