Equally as important was my ability to understand, empathise, set and maintain boundaries, motivate, encourage, support and be a part of a dynamic team offering the stability and safety so desperately needed by the young people.I worked diligently to ensure the safety of the young people within my care, looking after their needs as per various legislation and guidance, most importantly working under the ‘Every Child Matters’ framework. As Deputy Manager I showed strong leadership qualities in supporting my team to provide therapeutic interventions and support young people to understand their complex emotional needs based on various trauma informed approaches. This entails a considerable amount of self-reflection and self-awareness to deliver Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and support our young people to better understand and build the tools needed to regulate their own emotions as they move forward in their adult lives.During my role as a Deputy, I supported my Managers in the running of a team, managing various roles and being available as on-call support to the teams and young people’s needs. I supported my team with 1-1 supervisions and was extremely passionate about staff wellbeing and personal development. Within my time as Deputy and Senior I supported 2 Managers and homes to reach Outstanding under OFSTED grading.I stepped down as part of the Management team to pursue travelling plans and to continue my therapeutic education with a focus on more holistic therapies.
