Senior Civilian Deployments OfficerGlobal Affairs Canada | Affaires Mondiales Canada Sep 2015 - Sep 2017Peace And Stabilization Operations Program (Psops)• Coordinates civilian deployments in support of Canada’s response to natural disasters including advising on deployment options as part of the Interdepartmental Task Force and/or Interdepartmental Strategic Support Team which deploys immediately after a natural disaster.• Responds to international requests from United Nations or Multilateral organizations, for civilian technical support to areas such as security sector reform, early recovery, peace mediation, peace support operations, children affected by armed conflict, women, peace and security, transitional justice, countering violent extremism and other stabilization and reconstruction programming.• Leads the delivery of the civilian deployments function, including planning, co-ordinating and advising on impacts of related critical issues impacting deployments. • Monitors planned civilian deployment programming for compliance, and assesses the implementation against objectives and standards.• Coordinates deployment logistics with domestic and international partners and stakeholders, including negotiating on the duty of care requirements, establishing MOUs and providing strategic advice throughout the implementation to resolve any issues.• Coordinates preparations for personnel being deployed including orientation, training, and participation in military and multilateral exercises and arranges operational support related to return and reintegration. -
