I am an experienced media, communications and engagement professional with more than 20 years' experience across government, media, private business, and in the non-profit space.My passion and most recent roles are centered in emergency and disaster communication; making sure people have the best information they need to be safe before, during, and after natural disasters.I have demonstrated skills in creating and delivering bespoke communication, engagement and stakeholder support solutions, social media content, written collateral for multiple platforms and media relations. I have worked as a journalist and photographer, sub-editor, and a page designer in regional and metropolitan newspapers. I have post graduate qualifications in public relations from QUT, and tutor at QUT's School of Business, and also have the privilege of tutoring in marketing communications in my old department.I'm also a keen runner - the party is at the back of the pack!
