About Jennifer Lam

Jennifer Lam is a passionate educator with over 20 years experience working with children. Her diverse experience as an educator includes being a teaching aid for the Alberta Language Institute summer program for 12 years, including some time spent teaching English in Taiwan. She has a Montessori Teaching Diploma and a Bachelor’s of Education. Additionally, Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science and Minor in Business. Her experience in the technology industry includes working for IBM and MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates Ltd, where she coded image processing systems for satellites around the world, including Canada’s Radarsat 2.Now, Jennifer is a passionate technology and coding educator. She founded Discover Coding. She believes that computer science and coding are core, fundamental knowledge for the 21st century. Every child should have a chance to learn about algorithms, how to make an app, or how computers and the internet works. Jennifer strongly believes in the development of computational thinking as it helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success for the rest of their lives.
