As Controller reporting to the CFO, I oversee accounting, administrative, and strategic aspects of accounting for a large-sized, national subcontractor with over 2300 employees in 11 offices. I provide oversight, leadership and support for our 20-person department with respective teams: accounts payable and receivable, job cost, payroll, and compliance. My primary internal functions are timely and accurate close, assistance with preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP, reconciliation of general and sub-ledgers, cash flow management, budget and forecasting preparation, and payroll/compliance administration. Externally, I work across the organization to drive interdepartmental efficiencies through system optimization, build relationships with stakeholders to achieve operational and financial objectives, and to expand the level and quality of support accounting provides to the company.Implementation of FP&A software to move budget and forecasting online from excel, rollout across organization. Act as SME and superuser, UAT and provide training materials.Preparation and/or review of financial entries, reporting, budgets, forecasts, statements, schedules and filings.ERP and FP&A systems admin, manage configuration of control settings, security, rates, burden, tables and templates. Partner with IT on integrations and PM.Establish and document accounting policies, procedures, forms/templates, process workflows and financial controls.Ensure compliance and perform internal audit for pay & benefit rates, insurance, burden and contract/job setup.Drive process improvements across teams, build automations and reduce inefficiencies while improving quality and depth of service.Audit lead on external financial, insurance and labor audits; provide audit support, schedules and controls testing.
