Developed work plans, generated budgets and negotiated contract conditions for sediment remediation projects in Massachusetts. Contributed to Anchor QEA Quality Management team project audit procedures.• Delivered the successful remedial design and construction of a multi-million dollar pilot-scale capping project to remediate tar-affected sediments in a sand bed river. Project challenges during cap placement included federal- and state-listed endangered species, river access, weather, variable flow and permitting constraints. Produced streamlined short- and long-term monitoring approaches and contributed to numerous federal, state and local permits.• Produced and contributed to numerous local, state and federal permits for a contaminated sediment site encompassing approximately 10 acres of an active and busy Massachusetts harbor. Achieved the issuance of US Army Corps of Engineers Individual General Permit, including a Memorandum of Agreement to mitigate for adverse effects to the historic property, without delaying project schedule.

Contributed to portfolio team’s strategy for consistent technical approach investigating potential releases, assessing risk and obtaining no further action letters from the state agency. • Mentored and trained project managers on client team requirements during the merger of ARCADIS’ companies to successfully transition portfolio of terminal and service station facilities. Mentored minority-owned business enterprise teaming partner on utility projects and developed their skills to successfully obtain niche contract directly with the client. • Developed and implemented training for clients and clients’ consultants on a web-based portal and database created to facilitate the exchange of information and provide a documentation tool for the Loss Prevention System™, a behavior-based safety system. • Performed comprehensive permitting for excavation of eight banks of former petroleum pipelines extending approximately 2,100 linear feet within city streets and in the vicinity of San Francisco Bay. Negotiated access agreements from property owners and city agencies. Designed waste characterization sampling program for 12.4-acre excavation that obtained waste profile approval in less than 45 days.

• Contributed to the remediation activities for a 70-acre former fertilizer manufacturing plant. Responsible for development of remedial design and bid phase services for 35-acre parcel developed as a state park and 7-acre parcel developed as condominium site. Produced local, state, and federal permits for condominium site remedial design and maintenance and repair of existing seawall. • Delivered comprehensive federal and state permitting and restoration services for the Route 3 North design/build roadway expansion project. Coordinated wetland mitigation designs and prepared permit amendments for 25 acres of wetland impacts to more than 250 individual wetlands. Reduced the additional net wetland impacts to 2.1 acres as the project advanced from conceptual design through final design and construction. • Achieved compliance in operation of perimeter air monitoring system at Superfund Site by troubleshooting system problems to ensure that system was on-line during site operation hours. Mentored and trained staff in collecting and analyzing real-time data to meet action levels and action parameters for selected volatile organic compounds in the on-site laboratory.

• Managed field investigations and environmental site assessments for commercial, industrial, and government agency sites and assisted in remedial design evaluations. • Contributed to the evaluation of remedial options and preparation of a feasibility study.

• Designed and implemented research program investigating the oxidation of the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) in groundwater using hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by UV light. • Completed groundwater sampling and analysis program that investigated the effectiveness of the use of Point-of-Entry treatment systems to remediate petroleum contamination from private drinking water supply wells. • Graduate studies funded in entirety by Civil Engineering Department.
