Whether it’s data analysis, leadership, or customer service, I build connections. I do this by improving, building, and supporting projects that matter by focusing on sustainable design, social entrepreneurism, evidence-based practice and promoting diversity.I have had a diverse range of paid positions in many different areas, customer service, project lab assistant, peer mentor and waitress. However, I have all gained a wide range of perspectives on differing psychologies and ways of life from them. Connections that allow me to grow my emotional intelligence and grow my empathy. I have also volunteered in the Royal fire service and UNSA (University of Newcastle Students' Association) advocating for students with disability. I am also on the university of Newcastle institutional EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) committee. My major accomplishments include:- Being recognised for my contribution in the 2019 to 2020 bushfire crisis by the then state premier: Glays Berejiklian.- Receiving the Vice-chancellor's excellence award for customer service for playing a vital role in the University of Newcastle’s student living covid-19 response- Being successful in my application to join the EDI committee- 5 years experience in the New South Wales Rural Fire Service - Receiving the Shaping Futures Scholarship My leadership style promotes a safe space for criticism without judgement. I integrate frameworks to guide my practice and align projects with the business strategies and values, creating value. I am always quite flexible in my approach as I continuously learn and adapt to any given situation. Teams I cultivate are: - SMART goals orientated - Aligned in expectations - Diverse in lived and professional experiences - Interdisciplinary I enjoy working in multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary teams. Because of the degree of diversity, the skillsets of all the members enable very idea-rich brainstorming and problem-solving. However, the greatest weakness to multidisciplinary practice is the differing in reasoning, emphasis built by historical context, lexicons, norms, principles, and values across the disciplines. To address this, I have worked hard in improving my knowledge in many different fields to mediate the discussion. These include Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Statistics, and Maths, which I received a distinction in within my studies

Social Distancing ChampionUniversity Of Newcastle Jul 2020 - Dec 2021Callaghan, New South Wales, AustraliaAs a social distancing champion, I played a vital part in the University of Newcastle’s response to COVID-19. My team and I enabled activities and services to continue throughout the pandemic. Our role was to be a happy smiling face at the uni while carefully enforcing NSW guidelines and procedures. Some services which we enabled to continue included library, research, and teaching services which would not have been able to conduct numerous activities. In the Student Feedback on the University of Newcastle in 2021, the survey respondents 71.6% agreed that the SDCs’ were helpful and approachable, and 63.8% said that SDC’s assisted them in feeling safe in transitioning back to campus. When five student residents tested positive to the highly contagious delta strain of covid-19 and 200 residents within the international house were put into mandatory isolation for 14 days. Unfortunately, it also caused many staff members into self-isolation which led to a massive resource gap.My team and I delivered meals and essential items to the students affected while working in unfavourable conditions and an ever-changing situation. As the situation grew, it was an enormous collaboration involving many different university sectors, external businesses, and alumni. These included OzHarvest, pinkies, IFS, UNSA, Health response team, student living team, Spotless, student central, and NSW health. So, this required me to communicate effectively between all the different areas.I also helped to allow 1,200+ covid-19 tests conducted for on-campus residences in a day to occur and led a team of 3 to manage the distribution of students mail in a covid safe manner. My team, the student living covid-19 response, recognised the student living covid-19 response in the Vice chancellor’s Staff excellence award for Excellence in customer service. -
