After a career as a nurse, teacher and sales manager, I moved back to Australia following 24 years of living in Italy. This major life transition forced me to face what I owned and decide how much of it was essential to this new chapter of my life. My own personal experiences showed me that possessions can overwhelm both our physical and mental space and relinquishing years of accumulated possessions can be a real challenge, both physically and psychologically. Sorting through a lifetime of possessions can be oppressive and confusing and sometimes we need a little help from a third party to give it all some perspective and rational order. For this reason, I became a Personal Organiser in 2014 and began assisting older Australians with decluttering and downsizing. Client enquiries expanded to include the Disability and Aged Care sectors where safety and usability of the home are fundamental rights. Professionals and new retirees, struggling to make sense of their belongings whilst downsizing and moving, or decluttering to embrace the next chapter of life. 7 years on, I now specialise in, and love, resolving complex decluttering and organisational projects during major life transitions. Particularly those requiring practical strategies and creative problem solving when assisting clients to achieve their goals. I work hands-on but also bring clients together with a team of organisers who best match their individual needs. I am an Expert Accredited member of the Institute of Professional Organisers – the IOPO.I love mentoring other Professional Organisers and receive great pleasure watching them shine in the profession that I am so passionate about. As a founding Board Member of the Institute of Professional Organisers (Research & Development), I’m responsible for the creation of the industry specific PL & PI insurance policy. Together with the Board, we work to set standards of excellence in this evolving industry and provide networking, professional development and accreditation opportunities for our members to grow sustainable, dynamic businesses.
