During my tenure at KKI I worked in the Outpatient clinic and Inpatient Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU) conducting evaluations for diagnostic purposes and providing both individual and small group therapy. Patient’s ages ranted from 0-21, with diverse communication disorders and neurodevelopmental disabilities. As a trained administrator of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) I assisted pediatricians and neuropsychologists in the diagnosis of children and adolescents on the autism spectrum.On the NBU I worked collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatry, behavior psychology, nursing and social work. Communication diagnoses included: mixed receptive - expressive language disorder, dysarthria, phonological disorder, fluency disorder, reading disorder and pragmatic language disorder. Co-occurring diagnoses included: autism spectrum disorder, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, Rhett's syndrome, Landau Kleffner syndrome, stereotypic movement disorder with self-injury, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorder - NOS, disruptive behavior disorder - NOS, obsessive compulsive disorder, mood disorder -NOS, intellectual disability, and learning disability.
