Represents businesses in complex civil litigation throughout the United States with a particular focus on class action defense across a variety of areas, including insurance, consumer products, and data privacy. Also represents clients in commercial disputes, extra-contractual matters, and complex insurance coverage issues.

Represented clients in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on class actions in various areas, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation matters. Represented pro bono clients in death penalty cases.

Responsible for the Law Review as a publication and as an organization. Managed a staff of 43 student editors and every aspect of the journal, including publication offers, production scheduling, and editing work with the help of the Editorial Board. Represented the interests of the Law Review and its members to the faculty and administration.

Conducted legal research and drafted memoranda on substantive, procedural, and jurisdictional issues for civil rights, eminent domain, bankruptcy, capital crimes, and healthcare fraud cases. Drafted jury instructions, trial briefs, and deposition summaries for workers’ compensation cases.

Interviewed potential child sexual assault and illegal detention clients. Prepared preliminary reports and devised legal strategies for sexual assault and illegal detention cases. Drafted memoranda on constitutional challenges addressing the right to life, liberty, and protection against torture and cruel and degrading treatment for illegal detention in police brutality cases.

Conducted research on the validity of joint criminal enterprise theory for incorporation at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. Chaired a project to produce the Report of the Cleveland Experts Meeting (Michael P. Scharf and Jennifer Mesko, Report of the Cleveland Experts Meeting: The International Criminal Court and the Crime of Aggression, 41 CASE W. RES. J. INT’L L. 429 (2009)).
