• Direct day to day operations in a world-renowned microsurgical lab with full-time Research Fellows and various medical students and high school volunteers. • Research administration involving creation of research and departmental budgets, manage grant reports, submit grants through GAMS(grant application and management system), work with the Office of Sponsored Research Programs(OSRP) and Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA) to expedite grant review and approval, work with Legal to draft and approve contracts, renewals, and extensions• Teach internal, external, and international physicians how to perform surgery under a microscope and conduct transplantation research with the goal of improving patients’ lives.• Assure compliance with internal and external animal use and regulatory agencies such the Cleveland Clinic IACUC, AAALAC, USDA, and DOD.• Maintain annual Continuing Medical Education accreditation for Microsurgery Training courses• Responsible for all purchasing and inventory. • Maintain all computer and office equipment, surgical and tabletop microscopes, surgical instruments, and various research laboratory equipment. • Write and renew multiple animal research protocols.• Train new employees. • Schedule/oversee weeklong microsurgery training courses in which 35-50 internal, external, and international physicians participate throughout the year.

Participate in an in-vivo medical device/drug discovery team consisting of biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists. Responsible for surgical prep and support including gas and injectable anesthesia. Conduct experiments and collect data. Ensure USDA, NIH, DEA, and GLP/ISO 9001 compliance. Train and mentor new employees. Arrange and maintain a flexible surgical schedule for several research groups. Write and revise Sops and experimental reports. All animal facility purchasing, inventory control, and maintenance.
