I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been providing services in grief and loss, trauma, addiction and co-dependency since 2007. I provide individual, group and family counseling as well as speaking and education. My specialty is working with grief and loss especially surrounding suicide, overdose, or traumatic loss. It is often a missed component of care or it is treated as trauma without addressing the grief with the tools necessary for integrating into a new life. Due to this it has been my experience that people can get stuck in the process without the help they deserve and need. My goal is to provide the necessary treatment and tools for each person to learn to live with the loss and find long lasting hope for their future. I have been a Clinical Director of treatment facilities, supervising therapists and interns as well as program evaluation and development. I use an evidenced based complicated grief treatment, am EMDR trained and a trained sexual addiction therapist. I began my career in a residential treatment center servicing chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health disorders affecting clients and their families. I developed and implemented experientially based trauma services and an eating disorder track in conjunction with treatment modalities addressing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and intimacy disorders and co-dependency. I facilitated family programming for the loved ones of those suffering from substance use disorder where they learned to set and keep boundaries, recognize their self-defeating behaviors, deal with the loss of their loved one to addiction, and begin to live with hope and purpose.Having been through this journey personally and professionally, I intimately understand the process and feel it is my calling and purpose to help others know they are not alone in this. I am here to help you along the way. It is not as much about healing as it is learning to live with the loss and finding the purpose in your future. When not at work I am with my family, my two beautiful children as well as our cat and dogs. We enjoy playing games, listening to music, singing, hiking, biking and doing anything outdoors. As long as we are together, we find a way to have fun.
