As a child, I was always the first to complete my tests and get the highest score. Getting things done efficiently and effectively is my thing. I've continued to identify and address inefficiencies throughout my career, creating positive and impactful changes in every role.At a campus medical center, I tackled a long-neglected "problem papers" tray, systematically filing and weeding out old documents for the first time in years.At a summer job, I was the fastest and most accurate grader on standardized tests, maintaining top performance for the duration of the position.As a graduate student, I reorganized an overloaded filing system in the Dean’s office, weeding and shredding old files to enhance accessibility for everyone.At Queens College Music Library, I inherited a divided atmosphere with two service points and limited staffing. Within six months, I consolidated service points, improved patron support hours, and transformed the library into a welcoming, safe space by reimagining patron interactions and services with my team.In my teaching, I make the inaccessible accessible by breaking complex ideas into digestible chunks of information. At Carroll College, I addressed poor communication among excellent teams, reducing duplicated efforts. I led initiatives to create a unified Library and Learning Commons webpage, consolidated annual reports, and coordinated joint communications. I also launched a Library and Learning Commons Instagram account and YouTube channel and designed branded promotional materials. These efforts led to increased usage of Library and Learning Commons services and spaces as well as increased opportunities for collaboration across campus.My approach involves:- Identifying problems- Crafting and implementing actionable plans with my team- Adapting plans as needed for optimal results- Ensuring sustainability with maintenance stepsI excel at translating complex challenges into clear, actionable solutions that drive results.
