I partner with students and employers in Birmingham, Alabama and Akron, Ohio to create the transition from education to meaningful employment. I work extensively with accreditation, local and national employers and students on the changes that need to occur in our communities. The workforce has changed and is constantly changing. It is my goal to help students prepare for that and to help employers find the best people to take their companies to the next stage in their objectives. As a Career Coach and Learning Facilitator, I also lead classroom training sessions for my department and cross-department facilitation/collaboration. I teach an internship prep course to help students create the relationship with the employer and learn how to gain the most out of their internship experience. Lastly, I coach students and graduates on effective networking, LinkedIn practices, resume work, job searching strategies, interview skills and how to build e-portfolios. Managed small healthy cafe in a highly traveled tourist area, off the coast of Georgia. Offered and created unique healthy meals that adhered to several different weight loss plans and dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and nut free. Created detox and wellness plans for customers, including a juice cleans. Offered wellness and weight loss coaching to clients. Worked with local organic farms in a farm-to-table approach.
