• Provided senior support to the Vice-President, including as Acting Chief of Staff for six weeks;• Served as a link between the President’s Office, Vice-President’s Office (VPO), and assignedDirector Generals to ensure a clear and timely flow of information;• Received and reviewed memos and materials for the Vice-President, ensuring work is bothdelivered to VPO, and approved by the Vice-President according to deadlines;• Analyzed complex policy issues, such as vaccine mandates, and developed strategic options andrecommendations;• Established and maintained collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders;• Drafted strategic advice to senior management in the form of briefings and speaking points;• Worked with a team of policy analysts on complex issues such as the definition of “fullyvaccinated”; and,• Developed Ministerial level products, including Memoranda to Cabinet and Parliamentary Plans.

Lead a team of four policy advisors to support the Minister in delivering her mandate, anddepartment priorities;• Tracked progress on mandate items, identified gaps and priorities and planned next stepsthrough various methods depending on the item—formal trackers or periodic check-ins withteam;• Worked in cooperation with department officials on complex policy issues such as reconciliation,ocean protection, and ocean economy;• Steered DFO cabinet items through the cabinet process from working on Memoranda to Cabinetwith the minister and department, briefing PMO and internal stakeholders and partners toensuring the Minister is prepared for presentation and questions from colleagues;• Prepared the Minister for cabinet and cabinet committees by reviewing all items, preparingwritten and oral briefings and anticipating interests and questions relevant for the portfolio orregion;• Reviewed and provided advice on treasury board submissions, and provided process supportincluding liaising with the Treasury Board Minister’s office on DFO priorities;• Maintained important relationships with Indigenous partners, internal and external stakeholdersthrough meetings on behalf of the Minister and proactive outreach on relevant policy issues;• Advocated DFO priorities, on behalf of the Minister, with internal and external stakeholders andpartners including the Prime Minister’s office and other Ministers’ offices; and• Communicated the Minister’s directives and decisions on policy items and issues with thedepartment and external stakeholders.

• Regularly provided crisis communications advice and issues management support to the Ministeron all Public Safety Canada matters across western Canada;• Provided the Minister of Public Safety strategic and administrative management support onPublic Safety Order in Council Appointments such as the Parole Board of Canada, as well asMinisterial Appointments such as the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee;• Managed, organized and provided advice on complex immigration files of national securitysignificance;• Primary liaison with stakeholders and parliamentarians for the regions of British Columbia andthe Prairies on issues and constituency case management—this included during emergencysituations such as seasonal fires and floods;• Planned and executed ministerial travel, working in tandem with regional offices, local Members,senior department officials, local interest groups and Indigenous partners;• Coordinated and executed outreach for all western parliamentarians on Public Safety issues suchas states of emergency or program opportunities; and• Reviewed, edited and approved official correspondence from the Minister of Public Safety toother elected officials, stakeholders, and general public.
