I have represented technology and communications companies, and investors in these companies, for over three decades. My current work involves the following:Working with technology companies, wireless and satellite providers on the next evolution of wireless networks, including regulatory and transactional matters to support deployment of small cells and 5G technologies that will enable Smart Cities, IoT and the use of AI. Earlier in my career I served as vice president and general counsel of a wireless communications company I helped to build and sell.Working with innovators, the FCC and FAA to solve questions regarding acceptable communications solutions for advanced aviation (drones and evtols) including UAS command/control links, tracking and identification, collision avoidance and UAS traffic management systems. Providing compliance and strategic advice, and litigation support to companies that must comply with the requirements of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).I represent a number of clients on advanced aviation applications, strategies and compliance. I was a voting member on the FAA’s Aviation Rulemaking Committee that studied and made recommendations to the FAA Administrator about remote identification. I also sat on the BVLOS ARC. I am an active participant in NASA’s advanced aviation working groups. I serve as a subject matter expert on the FCC’s Technological Advisory Council on UAS, and the Department of Homeland Security’s CIPAC, which is studying how to protect critical infrastructure from drones.
