I graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland In 2009. Since then have continued to grow my knowledge and skills both professionally and personally. Currently I am in Bundaberg, QLD as a Senior OT at Queensland Health - Bundaberg Base Hospital in the Transition Care Program. For my hobbies, i am part of The Playhouse Theatre here in Bundaberg. Since joining in 2018 i have been fortunate to play the roles of Eponine in Les Mis, Miss Andrews in Mary Poppins, Hannah in Little Woman and now Donna in the new production of Mamma Mia. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, my baby girl and my step sons. I love music, it is the beat to which I march in this thing called life 🎼

Senior Project Officer Roots And Shoots (Ex Offender Rehabilition Programme)Aberdeen Forward Nov 2011 - Mar 2014Aberdeen ForwardI set up and was Senior Project Officer for a Big Lottery funded project which was partnership with Aberdeen Forward & HMP Aberdeen. The project worked with offenders within HMP Aberdeen on a vocational and daily living training programme to get them work and life ready on release. I was heavily involved in the set up and running of this side of the project however also set up and oversaw and ran thecommunity element when required as we were a small team.On release the male participants in project came to Aberdeen Forward for 6 months paid employment. There was a max of 6 males inHMP Aberdeen, and 6 males in community. I worked with colleagues to structure a work and life skills programme and work pattern that helps the individuals rehabilitate back into ordinary living. Other responsibilities included managing the project's budget Of £3.5M , supervision of staff and management of a small staff; prepare reports for boards and funders, work on promotional materials, student placement supervision within the project, oversee the progress of each individual that enters the project, and work with their multidisciplinary team of support to ensure the greatest success for the individual. Sometimes working with complex/challenging behaviours and health needs, involving where appropriate their families, friends, partners and extended family.Management of absence & sick leave.I have gained experience in HR - supervision, performance management, disciplinary procedures, project management. I also gained my trailer licence. I improved on my admin skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and outlook. Within the prison side of the project, I used the means of horticulture and woodwork in order to establish work & life skills within the workers. I also set up training including CV prep, interview skills, first aid, & John Muir Awards. I also supported and worked to enable the creation of a cooking on a budget training with separate funding from the Scottish Prison Service.

Many with associated Mental and physical health issues. I covered GP practices - Torry - Oscar Road and Kincorth practice. I would hold 1:1's in both these surgeries and within the Phoenix Futures offices on Palmerston Road.Responsibilities included - 1:1 initial assessments with all new clients, creating care plan and treatment plans for each individual enabling them to create SMART goals for their own recovery. I also conducted SMART group work within Phoenix Futures and received online training for this. I had to attend MDT meetings and work in conjunction with other ADP (Aberdeen Drug Partnership) organisations. I had to keep up-to-date and accurate records and notes of all meeting with individuals. Attend children's panels, or hearings as a support for individuals and also any court proceedings. I would also answer telephones, and man the office for drop ins. I also set up a small food bank type service in conjunction with Local social enterprise where we would collect food from them on a Thursday and this would given to our clients who were on low income or benefits in order to help feed themselves and their families. I also provided information on cooking on a budget.Working with rehab discharges, out patient detoxing and ORT reduction programme supports. -

During the day whilst children were at their mainstream school, I was a classroom assistant at a Disabled Children's Day Care Centre and School. Very progressive for Sri Lanka at the time. I supported teacher with learning and play and developmental growth activities. Singing, art, learning basic writing and signs.
