About Jennifer Sanchez

Serving my communities most responsively, I surround myself with opportunities to pursue work in people-oriented scientific endeavors. My role as a Medical Laboratory technologist has allowed me to work with patients indirectly to meet their healthcare needs. As a Secondary Math Educator in Guinea, I taught classes of 30 students in a rural village and worked with my fellow teachers to promote critical thinking in daily lesson plans. I collaborated with my counterpart to initiate a girls' club to help with practices of gender equality in the classroom and support continuing education for girls. My time at The College of Wooster prepared me to successfully conduct my senior independent study (IS) in biochemistry and molecular biology. I proposed, planned, and executed my research using the techniques I learned in introductory science courses and through collaborations with my lab mates. Experiences in the service industry have allowed me to collaborate with clients to navigate and ensure their needs are met. I excel in situations where I am given a goal and have the freedom to be creative and troubleshoot. My values and aspirations come from working with diverse groups and individuals with unique skills. I constantly seek opportunities to collaborate with others and use my unique experiences to produce admirable and novel outcomes.
