Manager responsible for a team overseeing the implementation of bilateral agreements with the prairie provinces. Involved in all tangible aspects of advancing the transformative child care program, including negotiation of multi-year action plans with provinces, conceptualizing and launching implementation committees with provinces and sector stakeholders, and delivering on the administrative aspects of the program (reviewing reports and audited financial statements, media releases, issuing payments). The Federal Secretariat on Early Learning and Child Care serves as a focal point for early learning and child care across the Government of Canada. The Secretariat brings together governments, experts, and stakeholders to collaborate in designing and implementing a Canada-wide early learning and child care system and is informed by the Minister's National Advisory Council.

Federal-Provincial Relations and Social Policy BranchResponsible for providing advice and analysis to senior management and the Minister of Finance on the government's social agenda, with a focus on social infrastructure files, including affordable housing and early learning and child care. Liaised with departments and other central agencies, prepared assessments of proposals, and drafted recommendations for the Minister of Finance in the context of producing the annual federal Budget. Recipient of a Deputy Minister Award of Excellence for my contribution to the Housing Affordability team during Budget 2019. Manufacturing and Life Sciences BranchLed departmental work to collaborate with Mexico and the United States, including with officials at the Department of Commerce and faculty at the Harvard Business School, on a North American Competitiveness Work Plan commitment on cluster and asset mapping. Developed relationships domestically with other jurisdictions, and internationally with the TCI Network, to advance Government of Canada objectives and leveraged networks to design and host a National Cluster and Asset Mapping Conference in Ottawa. Federal Budget 2016 announced the Government of Canada's intent to develop a Canadian Cluster Mapping Portal, an online tool to help regions attract foreign investment, help companies benchmark performance, as well as identify collaboration and sales opportunities. As Project Manager, worked to provide overall direction and guidance to the Cluster Project Team at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, including defining and advancing the multiple work streams for the project (e.g., consultations and engagement, data definition and capture, project governance, and IT/platform development process).

Provided strategic policy advice for the Prime Minister, the Clerk and senior officials on a range of policy files, including writing scenario notes for Cabinet committees and liaising with departments to provide support and a challenge function on draft products. Gained in-depth knowledge of the structure and functioning of the Cabinet committee decision-making system and the policy formulation process. Prepared briefing notes for Clerk and Deputy Minister-level meetings on health and Indigenous-related social policy files. Contributed to major government deliverables, including the 2007 Speech from the Throne (recipient of a PCO Merit Award) and the Fall 2008 transition of government. Acted as project coordinator for the 2009 Clerk transition briefing. Led on a variety of medium-term planning projects and processes and was responsible for the effective delivery of two Deputy Minister retreats.Project Lead for the canada@150 Secretariat, a Clerk sponsored initiative. This year-long initiative brought together 150 early-career public servants from across the country to explore the key trends and drivers expected to impact Canada on its 150th anniversary and analyse their implications for the public service. Involved in every facet of the pilot project from inception and project design, to implementation and evaluation. canada@150 was short-listed for an Innovative Management Award by the Institute of Public Administration Canada.

Ensured horizontal coordination and integration of departmental and broader Government of Canada priorities into the policy development process at HRSDC. Supported the ADM, Strategic Policy in managing key departmental processes (i.e. Deputy Minister and Ministerial transitions) and corporate decision-making bodies (i.e., participation in CCDM and Cabinet committees). Prepared briefing notes, speaking points, decks and mandate letters for senior management. Consulted across the department to advance priorities, such as the human capital agenda.
