As a second-year in law school, Ms. Steeve won the school’s moot court competition, arguing a Second Amendment case before Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and two federal circuit judges. In her third year, Ms. Steeve represented two indigent clients in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for the school’s appellate clinic and won both cases through settlement with the Department of Justice. She also served as Notes Editor on the UC Irvine Law Review, was President of the Moot Court Board, worked on five additional pro bono projects, and externed for Justice William Bedsworth on the California Court of Appeal.Prior to law school, Ms. Steeve worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for three years and assisted in numerous writ petitions and appeals before state and federal appellate courts, including the California Supreme Court.Ms. Steeve also graduated summa cum laude from Biola University’s Torrey Honors Institute, a classical education program, where she double-majored in History and Philosophy for her undergraduate degree.
