• Managed collaborative committees of 50-100+ scientists from government, industry, academia, and non-profit organizations and the associated technical projects engaged in resolving global health and environmental issues: Genetic Toxicology (9+ concurrently active projects), Risk Assessment for the 21st Century (RISK21), Exposure Science Subteam, Sustainable Chemical Alternatives (Exposure, Hazard Data Gaps, and Decision Analysis Subgroups, Vaccines and Adjuvants Safety: Focus on Autoimmunity.• Advanced the work of the committees through teleconferences, technical discussions, minutes, assignments of actions, timelines, and follow-ups. Worked closely with committee and project leaders to provide support, advice, and leadership. • Managed, edited, and contributed to 12+ collaboratively-written manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals. • Managed committee budgets of up to $200K per year. • Managed ACS GCI technical projects and programs. Supervised and mentored summer interns annually and managed a volunteer program. • Managed green chemistry awards programs, including student award programs, and convened the expert judges for the annual Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards program. • Managed the ACS Green Chemistry Institute–Petroleum Research Fund grant program, awarding twelve research grants totaling $800K. Served as the Principle Investigator on several federal grants from the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. • Participated in development of the NSF/GCI/ANSI 355 Greener Chemicals and Processes Information standard, through a partnership of ACS GCI, NSF International, and over 50 active stakeholders. • Managed the development of educational resources from the editing through printing and publication stages, including “Real World Cases in Green Chemistry, Volume II,” business case studies on green chemistry for MBA students, and green chemistry essays in the college-level textbook “Chemistry for Changing Times”, 11th - 13th editions. • Ran training workshops and webinars with different target audiences: students (college and above), teachers, and professionals. • Presented technical talks on behalf of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute®. Invited to speak nationally and internationally on topics including green polymers, coatings, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, renewable materials, information resources, education, and sustainability.• Designed and developed two databases: “greenness profiles” in the National Environmental Methods Index (www.nemi.gov) and the Green Chemistry Resource Exchange. • Initiated Social Media usage in ACS GCI and managed several websites.• Organized the annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference.• Reported to the ACS GCI Governing Board, ACS Committee on Environmental Improvement, and ACS Board Committee on Grants and Awards.
