About Jennifer Tipple

Let me tell you the story of how I lived and worked all around the world – and then came back to my hometown of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. I always wanted to travel, and when I finished my undergrad at Memorial University of Newfoundland I joined the many young people who left the province. From teaching people in the Caribbean how to protect themselves against climate change to promoting education and career paths available for youth in Qatar, I sought new cross-cultural opportunities. In 2013, I was accepted to INSEAD's prestigious MBA program, ranked #1 in the world by the Financial Times, and I studied in Singapore and France. I thought this degree would lead me to an impactful career in a developing nation... but then I moved home.Seeking the right career fit, I volunteered a lot, which reminded me of the needs and opportunities right here at home. As I interacted with people in need at The Gathering Place and Syrian refugees arriving in St. John's, I realized that I could use my experience and skill sets right here at home, tackling social problems and generating systemic change. So here I am, at home (literally and figuratively) in the nonprofit world in St. John's, working as the Director of Strategy for End Homelessness St. John's.
