Administrative leader for Primary Care and outpatient practice

Accountable for physician, scientist, and allied health HR activities, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee/staff relations, and policy and program development. Responsible for translating the institutional vision and strategic plan into meaningful and effective HR tactics, bringing an institutional perspective to daily human resources related decisions. Provide leadership and oversight for the staff in the division. Prepare and participate in the HR planning process. Recognize opportunities to improve service and quality, and act as a catalyst for realizing improvements. Act as a facilitator and generator of new ideas, and as a mediator on difficult issues. Provide leadership to Mayo Clinic historic properties management staff. Serve as secretary for the Committees. Annual budget of $8 million. Provide leadership to 5 direct reports and 120 Human Resources staff.

Collaborated with HR leadership, administration colleagues, and physician leaders to provide HR strategies and operations. Advised organization leadership on HR related matters in strategy, policy, and key issues. Served as a champion of the value of HR activities and culture to the organization. Served as a member of the HR executive team, administrative leadership team, health plan oversight team, Diversity Oversight Committee, and Personnel Committee. Annual budget of $7 million. Provided leadership to 4 direct reports and ~60 Human Resources staff.

Participated in planning activities. Partnered with leadership to develop HR strategies to meet their needs. Member of Allied Health Diversity Committee, Health Care Employee Data Subcommittee, HRIS Oversight, and HR Liaison for Joint Commission HR Standards. Led and participated in variety of projects, including expense reduction initiatives, Workforce Management Program, leadership development and succession planning, physician/scientist performance management, staff satisfaction survey follow up initiatives, union vulnerability assessments, HR annual report, and hiring process quality improvement. Trained mediator/facilitator for physician and scientist problem resolution. Annual budget of $2 million. Led 17 team members who provided HR service to departments (~5,000 employees).

Partnered with administrative and physician leaders on issues related to policy, compensation, employee relations, performance management, reorganization, planning, regulations, recruitment and retention. Developed and provided education to staff; provided counsel to managers and employees. Conducted investigations of harassment, EEO charges, substance abuse, conflict, confidentiality, hostile work environment, performance. One-year rotation through Salary Administration
