Emergency Department

Registered nurse at Southern Maine Health Care in both the Biddeford and Sanford campuses. I work with a variety of patient ages, backgrounds, and demographics in the emergency department. I also teach a cardiac rhythm course and am active in the charge nurse role at both campuses.

Registered nurse at Maine Medical Center, a 637 bed, Level 1 trauma center, Magnet recognized and teaching hospital. R9W is a cardiac unit that takes care of patients pre and post cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement, and ablations. Patients have a wide variety of cardiac problems including NSTEMI, STEMI, AFIB, and complete heart block. I am experienced with titrating drips including Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, and Integrilin. I am also well versed in telemetry and interpreting ECG’s.

Assisted nurses in caring for patients pre and post cardiac catheterization. Performed vitals signs, obtained blood glucose readings, assisted patients with personal care and assisted patients with ambulation. Also, assisted in admitting patients and performed post procedure vital signs.
