I am a hard-working and enthusiastic Physics graduate who is looking forward to gaining new skills and improving on existing ones in the beginning chapter of my career. Successfully completing a Masters degree has proven me to be a quick and efficient learner and has also given me the confidence to excel in new and challenging situations.Since graduating I have spent the past 2 years travelling across the world. I spent March - June 2012 in South America, while in January - May 2013 I travelled solo around South East Asia. Both trips allowed me to strengthen and develop numerous skills, while spending four months travelling alone reinforced my self-confidence and self-belief as well as honing my problem solving skills and my ability to stay calm and rational in stressful situations.I enjoy working as a waitress, and it has been invaluable in developing my communication and customer services skills, but it is not the career I want to pursue. Visiting multiple developing countries with their struggling and under-equipped healthcare providers really affected me. We are so fortunate in the UK to have a healthcare system at the leading edge of research and technological advancements. COPE is an organisation in Laos which provides prosthetic limbs and mobility support for survivors of UXO accidents. It primarily relies on donations from tourists in order to deliver life changing services which are readily available on the NHS.Therefore, I have realised that medical physics is where I would love to dedicate my time. To have the opportunity to do something worthwhile and rewarding with my degree is enormous and medical physics combines my love of science with this desire.Key Skills:- Very strong customer service skills.- Strong knowledge of all Microsoft programmes.- Competent with the operating systems Unix and Linux, and the programming language Python.- Experience sorting and analysing large data sets.- Proven quick and efficient learner in new situations.
