Teaching early learners has been my joy since stepping into the field in 2011. I have taught in a variety of young learner settings from New Hanover County public schools to an elite private preschool. I am passionate about high quality and effective early learning foundations through three major domains: self regulation and character development, instilling passion for literacy through phonetic understanding and phonemic fluency, and effective practice of engaging students in hands on learning experiences by utilizing current brain research, student use of 21st century technology, and fresh curriculum implementation. I know the impact of an experienced and knowledgeable veteran teacher and have sought to serve the profession through advocacy, peer modeling, trainings, mentoring, and collaboration.
