About Jen Young Heymoss

I’m a community and liberatory leader who started as an educator. I believe centering equity in our work isn’t achieved by joining a DEI committee or participating in a book study—it is about integration and how we embody equity in our work every day. I believe in lifting authentic youth voices and building our next generation of leaders. If we want to move towards transformative philanthropic practices, we need to center communities and fund like we want them to win, no matter the grant-making budget. Systems change work is an evolution and a long game, and I'm here for it-- even if I won't see the fruits of our labor for many years. Being a good manager is a skill that needs to be continuously cultivated. I love thinking about how to decolonize my leadership and empower my team to live into the power of their positions. We can be high-impact and high-achieving leaders AND rest. The leader sets the pace.
