(2008-2011) As Coordinator, then Manager of IFC’s Pacific Tourism Program, I:- Led the development of a Tourism Sector Diagnostic (TSD) methodology for assessing impediments to sustainable development of tourism destinations, and conducted pilots of the TSD Tool in PNG, Zambia and Grenada to build global relevance.- Managed the 3-year Pacific Tourism Diagnostic Project, applying the TSD Tool in PNG, Samoa, Solomon Is, Vanuatu and Tonga in partnership with Government and the private sector, and developing associated ‘Solutions Programs’ for each country.- Initiated investment climate-specific solutions in the region based around public private dialogue, institutional strengthening, tourism policy and planning, and investment facilitation. - Convened a Tourism Investment Planning & Promotion Workshop for Pacific Island Ministries of Investment Promotion and Tourism, and private sector Tourism Associations.- Project-managed IFC’s Tsunami Recovery project for tourism SMEs in Samoa. - Contributed to IFC’s global tourism sector strategy as the East Asia Pacific representative on IFC’s Tourism Practice Group.(2006-2008) As Associate Operations Officer for IFC’s Pacific Tourism Program, I: - Co-developed and delivered Tourism SME Workshops in PNG to build local capacity for preparing bankable business plans. - Organised Tourism Investment Seminars in Samoa & Fiji. - Coordinated online booking system projects in Samoa, Timor-Leste & Solomon Islands to improve access to market for tourism SMEs.
