Work with Volunteer Mission Staff, Canada Games Council and Host Society to coordinate Team Ontario's participation in the Canada Games. Team Ontario is group of approximately 350-450 athletes, coaches, managers, chaperones, support staff and mission staff from across the province to compete at the Canada Winter Games and the Canada Summer Games. The team is represented in all sports competing in the Games. The Canada Games are an important component of our sport system, and a key event in the development of Ontario's young athletes. • Responsible for the government’s investment/role in the Ontario Games Program.• Led the Quest for Gold – OAAP Review providing external consultants with direction ensuring that proposed program changes reflect the needs of the high performance sport community and Ministry objectives. • Led the development, design and implementation of the Ministry of Health Promotion/University of Toronto High Performance Initiatives which provided $300,000 in funding to Provincial Sport Organizations• Annually negotiated and oversaw transfer payment agreements with key stakeholders including the University of Toronto, and the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario totalling $1.5 million. • Co-led the Quest for Gold Program which provided $7.0 million in direct athlete assistance to 1,142 athletes annually. • Provided strategic consulting services to 5 sport and recreation organizations leading to an increase in capacity and programming opportunities.• Supported key sport and recreation stakeholders to access Ministry funding and annual monitoring of $629,722 of transfer payment funds.• Participated and led Ministry program and policy planning in the successful development of grant funding programs for 48 PSO/MSOs, and provided expert sport and recreation advice regarding development and administration.
