I work on enhancing talent confidence and self-belief by working with clients to stop playing it safe in life, overcome their doubts, and start taking those actions they had been avoiding.My coaching approach is based on the belief that you can always change how you look at things. Because while we cannot always choose or control what happens to us, we can always choose how we feel and respond to it.I like this phrase to describe how by changing your perspective about something you can open yourself (and your mind) to growth and possibility:“Your perspective will either become your prison or your passport. It will either confine you to the way things are or launch you into the way things are meant to be.” - Steven Furtick.I use principles and tools of Positive Psychology to catalyze change in my client’s mindsets by bringing them to focus on the positive aspects of their lives, positive experiences (what inspires you and gives you joy?), and positive states (what are you grateful for?).My approach is based on building an optimistic approach to life, where my clients can identify their values and develop a sense of hope and gratitude for their lives. To accomplish this, I use a range of techniques that help clients focus on a positive outlook, such as affirmations, visualization, gratitude practice, positive self-talk, values, and strengths assessment, and honestly, powerful questions in a “game format” to have clients laugh and have fun while we are in session (I’m a believer that enjoying things and having fun is a fundamental part to be able to learn and grow).I also apply growth mindset principles during my coaching to challenge my client's limiting beliefs and notice the patterns where my clients think they cannot do (or learn to do) something. I believe that mindset is not actually “set”, but that our mind has different “settings” and we have the ability at any given time to change the setting in which our mind is at.An important part of applying this philosophy is “challenging” clients to step out of their comfort zone, take more risks, and challenge themselves to take the risks they are not taking in life. I use tools based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to overcome limiting beliefs and start acting first like the person you want to be. Some people use the “fake it until you make it” expression, but I prefer the alternative “practice it until you become it”.One phrase to embody this perfectly is:“The willingness to show up changes us.
