The Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law (CERL), affiliated with the Annenberg Public Policy Center at Penn, is a non-partisan interdisciplinary institute dedicated to preserving and promoting ethics and the rule of law in national security, warfare, and democratic governance. CERL draws from the study of law, philosophy, and ethics to answer the difficult questions that arise in domestic and transnational crises and conflicts.

Developed program roadmap for a scholars program aimed at strengthening graduate education pathways at U.S. universities for students and professionals in Equatorial Guinea. Collaborated across university departments and offices to author partnership agreement templates and guiding principles documents for project lifecycle. Wrote grant applications and conducted funding prospect research. Spearheaded communications and outreach strategies for the program, including the rollout of the consortium’s first-ever program-wide website. Managed a team of three to develop and maintain a digital repository of photo and video content and to coordinate a series of virtual events designed to increase visibility of biodiversity conservation efforts in Central Africa.

Managed research projects, special events, and the program’s signature conference on alleviating global poverty, the Brookings Blum Roundtable, for the Development Assistance and Governance Initiative (DAGI) team. Provided administrative and research support to Dr. Homi Kharas. Worked on a team of graduate student consultants to produce an intelligence agency-sponsored report on alternatives to the two-state solution in Israel and Palestine. Under the guidance of a faculty advisor, engaged with key stakeholders in the Middle East and U.S. to prepare analysis on the feasibility of a confederal model. Drafted briefing decks and presented core findings to U.S. government officials.

Facilitated weekly discussions on policy analysis and effective writing for MPA candidates. Evaluated student assignments and collaborated with professor to design graduate coursework. 94 percent of student survey responses agreed my discussion sections contributed significantly.

Interned at U.S. Embassy Madrid in the Political Section, where I synthesized and analyzed national politics for inclusion in daily briefs sent to Washington. Served as site support for President Barack Obama's visit to Naval Station Rota and First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to Madrid. Attended high-level meetings with government officials and community leaders.

Managed Columbia Law School's social media campaign for the campus-wide Sexual Respect Initiative. Designed posters and programmed tweets for Columbia Law School's mental health initiative, #TakeFive. Assisted with various administrative tasks in student affairs, including clerkship applications.

Devised thematic instruction for the Government of Madrid’s Global Classrooms project. Taught weekly classes on grammar, conversation, and U.S. culture to aid student fluency in English. Worked additional hours tutoring ESL students of various ages and skill sets.

Designed and implemented the Government of Cantabria-Botín Foundation’s Global Classrooms program. Prepared over 50 bilingual students to participate in regional Model UN conferences. Organized a forum on global engagement and bilingualism attended by over 50 students and community leaders. Selected through a competitive application process to partake in TEDxFulbrightDublin.

Conducted evaluative interviews for prospective freshmen as part of college admissions process. Served as a public representative for the university and its student body by engaging with students and parents. Assisted with data-entry and administrative/substantive admissions projects.

Conducted independent fieldwork in Oaxaca, Mexico with competitive funding from the university. Collected qualitative data through multi-sited interviews and ethnographic observations on the production, consumption, and circulation of Zapotec textiles in the global market, culminating in a 50-page thesis. Awarded Adlai E. Stevenson award for the most accomplished undergraduate thesis in the International Studies department.

Provided customers with personalized service and maintained expert knowledge of clothing sold. Assisted with maintenance of floor display and worked at the registers to ring up sales. Promoted to Jean Expert based on accelerated sales performance.
