Managed all department social media accounts for the Virginia Beach Police Department. Produced video, print, and photographic communication products about the Virginia Beach Police Department for department personnel and public outreach and awareness. Assisted with coverage of staff recognition events, promotion of recruitment activities, and various community engagement opportunities. Assisted the Public Affairs Officer in responding to media queries in a timely manner.

Served as the primary point of contact for the media by fielding press calls, facilitating responses to inquiries, and identifying internal subject matter experts to discuss relevant information to media, speaking engagements, and other public forum events. Researched, planned, implemented, and evaluated a year-long public relations campaign to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the U.S. Navy Seabees resulting in multi-state and national media saturation.

Public Affairs Officer responsible to Commander, Submarine Group Two, 27 fast-attack submarines, associated squadrons and four subordinate shore commands. While assigned to Commander, Submarine Group Two coordinated the public affairs for 16 Changes of Command, 10 return from deployments, and two commissionings. In addition, coordinated five science, technology, education and math (STEM) events impacting nearly 1,000 students and coordinated volunteers for the 2nd Annual Connecticut Technology Education and Engineering Association SeaPerch Competition. Helped plan the 113th Southeastern Submarine Force Birthday Ball, which incorporated The Learning Channel (TLC's) Cake Boss that showcased Submarine Force heritage.

While assigned to Emerging Media Directore I had the pleasure of working on various projects to include DoDLive blog, DoDLive Bloggers Roundtable, Armed with Science, Veteran's Reflections, and Wounded Warrior Diaries.The Emerging Media Directorate, established in October 2006, to educate Defense Department organizations about new media tools and applications, encourage their use throughout the department, and to communicate department messages and priorities more effectively with the public.
