- Direct the development, planning, coordination, and implementation of key programs, initiatives, and resources related to sustainability practices at GSU.- Responsible for recycling protocol and operations, including managing a six-person crew; increased diversion rate 130% in three years through operational efficiencies and programmatic upgrades.- Secured $22 million in federal funding to upgrade our PantherBus fleet from diesel to all-electric; responsible for implementing this grant in partnership with other departments and external partners.- Oversee a robust sustainability internship program; advise, mentor, and serve as a resource for students and student clubs engaging in sustainability issues and projects. - Collaborate with various Colleges and campus units including (but not limited to) Dining, Parking & Transportation, and Housing, to advance sustainable programs and operations.- Elevate program stature through enhanced program visibility, including through national awards, external funding, and outreach initiatives.

GENERAL SUSTAINABILITY:• Oversee planning for and implementation of campus sustainability initiatives.• Leverage GIS interns to tell KSU’s sustainability story interactively; GIS mapping portfolio includes sustainability map, virtual sustainability tour (“StoryMap”), bike map, and clean commute map.• Complete annual greenhouse gas inventory • Support student sustainability clubs and initiatives and oversee various sustainability internships.• Chair of Presidential Commission on Sustainability (2020-2021); co-developing an Environmental Justice initiative for KSU.ENERGY:• Design and manage on-line energy dashboard showing real-time and archival utility data for over 45 sub-metered buildings across both campuses; utilize dashboard to support energy literacy and to provide in-house analysis on energy impacts from operational changes and efficiency projects. • Developed campus solar inventory to guide installation planning across both campuses.RECYCLING & WASTE DIVERSION• Launched a student-run recycling project to provide meaningful paid internships for sustainability-minded students while providing the Office of Sustainability the opportunity to take ownership of recycling operations in select buildings.• Developed a tool to analyze the recycling stream at KSU; this allows us to perform the equivalent of a daily waste audit. The tool provides data on the quantity collected, by waste stream, across 11 different buildings, as well as the contamination by waste-stream and frequency of needed pick-up.

I managed the implementation of the State Energy Program (SEP) and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; these awards comprised nine programs that provided $42 million in financing for energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives in the public, private, and residential sector. These programs resulted in 4 MW of installed solar electric capacity and energy-efficiency retrofits for over 4,000 buildings around the state.In my role, I designed and implemented processes to streamline contract management responsibilities, developed and maintained web-based tools to assist with reporting and invoicing of over one hundred grant recipients, applied for and managed federal grant awards, and managed the ongoing SEP budget.

I represented the environmental sustainability division and oversaw the implementation of high-level forums that trained international government officials to improve their policies in relation to water, solid waste, and land use. The organization was co-founded in 2004 by the City of Atlanta and United Nations Institute for Training and Research. CIFAL Atlanta's mission is to provide a platform for local government authorities in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
