As an instructional technologist, I have the amazing opportunity to work with Batavia teachers and students. We work together to integrate technology into the curriculum, paying special attention to the desired learning outcome for the student . I am proud to be a part of the Batavia mission, "Always Learning, Always Growing".

Completed training and coaching program which prepares transitioning educators to work at an education company. Coursework covers marketing, sales, customer success, product development, instructional design, professional development, operations, Human Resources, recruiting and finance.

The primary responsibility in this position is to modify general education curriculum to a level in which students with disabilities can master. This position requires me to provide instruction in all content areas as well as develop materials for the general education teacher to use while IEP students are in their classrooms. Additionally, I serve as case manager for many students and am responsible for progress monitoring, troubleshooting, and being the overall point person for any issues that may arise. Voluntarily, I provide staff development for colleagues as needed.

As an Assistive Technology Specialist, I have the privilege of helping students with disabilities experience greater success with the use of technology. My position allows me to evaluate and work with students as well as train/consult with school staff.

As a Literacy Consultant for GCA, I was able to travel the upper midwest and train teachers with high quality literacy materials. In working with GCA, I experienced great amounts of training from Gretchen Courtney and was able to pass along her methodology to teachers Pre-K through 8th grade.

Responsible for evaluation, recommendation, implementation and training of assistive technology supports for students of varying age and ability level. In this position, I was responsible for training staff with low-tech options such as visual supports and communication books. I also was able to implement and train families and staff on the use of static and dynamic display communication devices. For students with learning disabilities, I evaluated their abilities and needs and provided software to assist with their difficulties with reading, math or written expression. As an Assistive Technology Specialist, I utilized my skills with students as well as my skills as a trainer. These skills proved to be critical to the students’ success with the recommended supports.
