My Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and my Bachelors Degree in Special Education are both from Northern Illinois University. My unique career path has helped me develop a specialty in taking complex ideas and breaking them down into smaller, more easily learned steps. My experience as an educator and coach has allowed me to implement this skill with all types of learners; students and adults.I have a strong passion for helping people learn. When I began my career as an educator, my passion was to help students with disabilities learn. As my career evolved, so did my passion. I began to love training teachers in different areas, mainly literacy and technology. When I began in the role of Instructional Coach, I learned new ways to partner with colleagues and support them in their own learning (while also learning myself). It's been quite the journey.I believe all people can learn and develop new skills. I believe all people have unique gifts that should be embraced. These beliefs are the bedrock of who I am personally and professionally. They drive my overall passions as well as how I approach my day-to-day projects.
