I was recruited to join the team in early 2000 and remained a key staff member through the sale to YDI Wireless and relocation of the business in May of 2004. Was promoted 3 times and in the last 2 years of my tenure was a direct report to Dan Hesse, CEO. I held overall strategic and management responsibility for Human Resources, Facilities and Office Administration (and in the last year IT). Led our ISO 9001 certification in support of HR and Administration. We scaled Terabeam from 10 to 500 employees in only 18 months and unfortunately when the bubble burst, had to lay off all but 150 prior to the sale. Several of the first hires I made for the Company remained part of the critical team until the end. I think we'd all agree this was a wild ride and an experience we will all remember.

This was a start-up focused on providing remote wireless monitoring of units such as vending machines and parking meters to reduce service time. I built and led an HR and Recruiting department and scaled to 300 employees in multiple work locations. I traveled extensively as a key member of the due diligence task force evaluating companies for potential acquisition. The office was later relocated to Pennsylvania and I choose to stay in Seattle. This first start-up job was formative for me and influenced my life long love of startups.
