I am a Mechanical Engineering PhD candidate at UC San Diego, working on computational mechanics with a focus in immersed boundary methods. Upon passing my department qualifying exam I was awarded my Masters degree in fluid mechanics and numerical methods in Summer of 2019.My research looks to broaden access to new finite element methods through the development of code libraries used by open source software, like FEniCS. For my current project, I have created the open source library EXHUME to implement interpolation-based immersed boundary methods. I recently completed my second summer internship at Lawrence Livermore National Lab through the High Energy Density Physics internship program.
