Some would say that my passion is brilliant strategy but truth is, what gets me most excited is ideas. The bigger, the better. The more visionary, even better. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the spirit it takes to renew and reinvent – to look at the same thing again and again, and each time find fresh perspective, new opportunities and come up with ideas – regardless of whether it’s a communication plan for a client or a look at how we do business or a experiential digital platform. This is not a time for tidy minds. These times demand pluck and stamina plus a goodly portion of strategic brilliance.While it was certainly a few years ago now, my passion for ideas was truly ignited when, as a founding partner of JWT’s Engine Room and subsequent liaison for WPP’s integrated initiative, The Total Solutions Group, I was an advocate for integrated communications far before it became industry standard practice. My leadership over the years, has spanned projects that involve brand strategy, advertising and promotion, trade marketing, regional and event marketing, digital/interactive marketing, customer insights, consumer research, CRM, in-store merchandising and strategic planning.With a bias for action and ideas, I have led communications initiatives for some of the biggest and most successful brands in the marketplace. My experience includes packaged goods marketers such as Heinz, Quaker, Nabisco, Glad, Seven-Up, Kraft and Philip Morris; technology, consumer electronics and durable goods organizations such as Siemens, Whirlpool, Fujifilm, Thomson/RCA and Sony; hospitality and tourism leaders such as Marriott International and the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau; retail industry gold-standard Publix Supermarkets; and financial service giant UBS.
