I manage coordinated and integrated releases of functionality, guide functional teams through multiple rounds of unit, end-to-end, and parallel/pre-production testing, facilitate effective management of project tasks, provide complete project support for high-risk/high-visibility initiatives, as well as build enduring and effective relationships with all stakeholders, team leads, subject matter experts, and all members of the functional teams.

Oversee Federal & Education Support Programs - working with Child Nutrition, Consolidated Federal Programs (Titles I, II, III and IV), Home Study, and Inter-Agency Work. An amazing staff of 22 who support 58 local education agencies and 77 food authorities to help the children of Vermont be educated and fed during the school day and throughout the summer. We ensure that approximately $80 million in federal and state funds are used responsibly and for the purpose intended while providing technical assistance and support. Our work with Human Services and home study families supports children and families outside of the traditional school setting to maintain educational stability. Agency wide Leadership Team work includes acting as Federal Liaison to US government, legislative support, project management, policy creation and review, and streamlining agency processes. Oversaw implementation of state-wide Federal Grants Management System.

The Education & Volunteer Department at Zoo New England is comprised of three teams – the Core Education programming team, the Youth Programs team and the Volunteer team. All three are closely integrated to create a unified educational experience and conservation message to visitors and program participants as well as others who engage with Zoo New England via outreach activities. As Director, I was responsible for the day to day operations of the Departments including staff supervision, program planning, and budget management for both the Franklin Park and Stone Zoos. Also responsible for short term and long range planning, the establishment of departmental projects and goals and the development of effective strategies to accomplish them. Additional responsibilities include conceptualizing, developing and implementing projects related to engagement through volunteers, education and youth programs.
