Jennifer Hatzfeld is the Regional Network Director for the Meros Center, focused on strengthening partnerships, research, and training opportunities in support of Christian health ministries around the world.In 2022 Jennifer retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving twenty-seven years on active duty in multiple roles around the world, first as a clinical nurse and then focused on population health. She completed her PhD in Nursing in 2009 at Johns Hopkins University where she studied disparities in health outcomes among active duty Air Force members by race/ethnicity, gender, and rank. Jennifer focused her initial research on population health topics including the prevention and management of chronic diseases. Following deployments to Afghanistan in 2010 and 2012 on the Joint Combat Casualty Care Research Team, she expanded her research efforts, assessing lifesaving interventions in combat casualty care, understanding pain management during patient transport and evaluating the impact of animal assisted therapy in the aeromedical staging facility. Achieving the rank of Colonel, Jennifer served as the Chief of Healthcare and Nursing Operations at the Air Force Medical Readiness Agency, and then as the Senior Medical Advisor to the Air Force Surgeon General.Jennifer is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and completed a Certificate in Community Health Ministry.
